I look for the spaces between the competition, capturing the ritualistic and human stories of sport movement.

It’s a Tuesday night. It’s rushing to get changed in the back of an estate car hastily parked in a field. It’s 5km, 200m and 30 odd mins of full gas pain. It’s war stories over a chip butty and a pint ale.

It’s Stoodley Pike Fell Race 2026.

It’s Hebden Bridge turning circle. It’s parking on a verge. It’s a pub that’s no longer a pub but should be. It’s a motorbike parting the start line. It’s tussocks, boulders, and bracken. It’s sunset and Franks Red Hot sauce for a prize. It’s a cow rubbing itself on a live electric cable. It’s dibbers and printed out race times. It’s grass roots running.

It’s Widdop Fell Race 2026.
